The University of Minnesota's Translational Neuromodulation Training Program (TNTP) is recruiting a diverse group of post-doctoral fellows to engage in high-impact, interdisciplinary research that develops and translates neuromodulation technology to human studies.  We are recruiting post-doctoral trainees this year with a start date as early as Fall 2023.

The University of Minnesota has one of the strongest translational neuromodulation programs in the country and is renowned for its medical device ecosystem.  This training program will pair post-doctoral fellows with faculty co-mentors between (1) fundamental neuroscience or neuroengineering fields, and (2) clinical disciplines. Fellows will have opportunities to work with program faculty who are pioneers in the neuroscience and clinical translation of (a) deep brain stimulation therapies for neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders, (b) spinal cord stimulation for restoration of volitional movement and autonomic function after a spinal cord injury, (c) peripheral nerve stimulation for treatment of cardiometabolic and inflammatory disorders, and (d) techniques for manipulating the spread of brain cancer. Fellows will integrate and lead aspects of these existing translational neuroscience research programs, many of which are already in human clinical trials or near the threshold for first-in-human studies.

Please complete the following to submit your application to the program. Note that to be eligible for this program, you will need to be a US citizen, non-citizen national of the US, or permanent resident of the US with verified documentation.  Additionally, you will need to have successfully defended your PhD prior to entry into this post-doctoral training program.  If you have any questions, please send the program director (Prof. Matt Johnson) an email at [email protected].  Thanks for your interest in our training program!
